When I was born in 1968, surely, I wasn’t aware of my future seaman life. Everything changed in my life with one Naval High School flier that I saw when I was studying in Konya, a city in the middle of Turkey. I graduated from Naval High School in 1985 and in 1989 from Naval Academy as a naval officer, it was all about being at sea.
After working for a while on navy ships, I quitted from Navy and started working in yachting business. I worked in different departments of a worldwide yacht charter company for a long time. Before I go back to my life at sea as a freelance skipper in 2010, I established my own travel agency and concentrated on organizing outdoor excursions, personally guided so many groups for sailing, trekking, skiing, rafting etc.
Since I am back at sea, I have been working as a skipper for the guests of yacht charter companies. I did so many boat deliveries in Turkish Waters and from/to many harbours in the Mediterranean & Aegean Sea with all sizes of boats. After thousands of miles I did and meeting so many ‘sea people’, my first aim is to share all my experiences with people who likes to know more about sea.
For the last five years, it is really pleasure for me to host our guests who would like to live seafaring life, learn about seamanship & sailing, see different harbours and enjoy the turquoise waters, on our boat “Çingene”
